Rudraksha is directly connected to Lord Shiva, the member of the trimurti, the supreme divinity in the Hindu mythology.
Rudraksha word is combination of ‘Rudra’ and ‘Aksha’. ‘Rudra’ means Lord Shiva and ‘Aksha’ means tear.
So, a ‘Rudraksha’ is said to be the ‘Tear of Lord Shiva’.
Rudraksha beads are the dried seeds obtained from the Rudraksha tree.

Rudraksha beads (manka) comes in different number of faces i.e. mukhs.
A face in Rudraksha means number of segments or number of eyes visible.
